Bird fever is considered as infectious disease of bird and people can be affected it from sick birds. Infected parakeets, turkeys, parrots, sparrows, ducks, pigeons are the principal transport of the disease. This is a viral disease and virus attacks the respiratory tract once it is inhaled into the body. Most of the people who have these symptoms have had close contact with birds those are sick. In some cases, bird flu has passed from person to person. Other birds that can also spread C. psittaci include mynah birds, does, pigeons and turkeys. Birds, who carry the organism may appear healthy, but can shed it in their feces.
Bird fever has no immunization, which makes it a life-threatening condition in humans. Therefore, you must be careful when you buy your baby a pet. Severe symptoms with large involvement of lungs and other vital organs require immediate attention and treatment. In humans, parrot fever can range from simple flu-like symptoms to sever and dangerous pneumonia in its severity. One of the grimmest scenarios that had shaken up the world was pandemic flu in 1918 and 1919, which claimed millions of lives worldwide.
The virus enters into the bird and develops the bird-fever or flu. There are many ways that the virus can affect a bird. Contaminated water is the major cause of entering a virus into a birds’ body. Vehicles, cages equipments, clothing and feed also may affect the bird with virus.
Eggs from hens those are affected can contaminate incubators and break. If the infected bird is discharging some fluid and another healthy bird comes into the contact, that healthy bird can get bird-flu. The virus into flocks of sea birds is also a great medium to spread this threatening disease.

Being the contagious disease, the virus responsible for bird-fever can get transmitted from the infected bird to your baby through various ways. Discharges from the bird can affect the baby through eyes and nose. Baby often touches the infected material and can ingest that into its mouth. This is the major cause of transmitting the disease.
There could be common toys for babies and birds like ball etc, the ball gets infected by bird and if the same toy is given to baby to play, the baby certainly touches and there are also chances to put that ball into mouth. This can be dangerous as the virus gets transmitted quickly into baby’s body from the common toy.
One should not ignore any of symptoms that could be signal for having life-threatening condition. There could be mild to moderate fever in beginning. The baby may stop playing and remain lethargic. There will be difficulty in breathing and so the respiratory rates may go high. This is because the virus responsible for bird-fever affects respiratory organ first. There could be diarrhea, cough, bleeding gums, rashes and vomiting.
History and blood test will be good for confirmed diagnosis. Since, it is the viral disease; it has no sure-shot remedy. Antibiotics can be given to prevent secondary infections. The vaccination is still under pipeline and scientists throughout the world are researching for the same.
