Baby Conception - an Introduction

Bookmark and Share

A baby conception is popularly known as conception or fertilization. Other names for conceptions are syngamy or fecundation. This is fusion of gametes to form a new organism of the same species. In animals, the process happens when a sperm fuses with an ovum. This fusion eventually leads to the development of an embryo.

The whole process can happen within the body of the female as an internal fertilization or can occur outside as external fertilization depending upon the type of the animal species. The entire process of development of new organisms is known as procreation, the act of species called reproduction.

Human Fertilization/Conception

In humans, a conception is defined as union of human egg and sperm, generally occurring in the ampulla of the fallopian tube (female reproductive organ). Fertilization constitutes of the penetration of the oocyte that a sperm performs. A fusion of the sperm and oocyte has to be succeeding to get perfect conception.

Conceiving a baby successfully means one has to understand the best conception positions, a monthly reproductive cycle, your mood of being prepared for conception, overall health and the circumstances around you. For a father, it could be an exciting moment with lots of fun and physical pleasure, but for mother, it is all above and a special emotion of turning into a girl from woman and woman from mother. This gives her a divine feeling of motherhood with lots of joys and happiness.

Entering into the world of Baby conception

To conceive a baby and pregnancy are complex events but though exciting and wonderful for both especially for a mother. There should be a perfect plan for baby conception; right form the willingness to play sexuality, getting peak of pleasure, reaching orgasm and then preparing for a newcomer in the family. Though it is much more than just a physical process, there are some fundamentals to be followed to make conception succeeding.

One has to begin with knowing her proper fertile time. Usually, ovulation occurs about fourteen days before the next menstrual period begins. As a standard example, woman with 28 days of cycle, day number fourteen will be an ideal and most fertile for conception. The first day is the first day when your last period had began. In a same way, if a woman is having the cycle of 30 days, day number sixteen will be best for being conceived.

One should monitor the basal body temperature. Some recommend that slight elevations in one’s body temperature (for example, when you get up everyday) are an ideal signal that you are on most fertile time. For a perfect conception, carry and measure temperature for those ‘normal’ elevations in body temperature. You should be checking out for the mucus of cervix in your body. A healthy ovulation alters the appearance and consistency of cervical mucus. If you observe carefully, you might be able to see an ‘egg-white-like’ vaginal discharge in little quantity indicating the time of perfect ovulation and the most fertile time to conceive a baby.

Baby conception positions

About the position, time tested and trusted man-on-top works wonderfully. This is therefore labeled as ‘missionary position’. There is a scientific theory that proves this position as the best among all. When a man is mounting a woman, due to the gravitational force, a semen flow is encouraged towards the uterus, where it has to meet the egg or ovum of a woman. This flow with gravitation maximizes the chances of sperm uniting with an egg causing a healthy conception.

Other positions like rear entry position are equally good. Couple who want to try new exciting postures can go for what is termed ‘doggie’ position. This position will also allow a man to drop the semen nearer to the cervix with downwards direction. In side-by-side position, again, it allows man’s sperm to start their journey towards the cervix.

Any position you adopt, but finally when an orgasm is about to come, a male has to lift a female from her waist slightly upwards and forwards (in man-on-top simple position) with a gentle last stroke. This is the best combination of the extreme pleasure resulting into a perfect conception. After ejaculation, do not be in hurry. One should remain in the same position until the ejaculation is totally completed. Let the male organ remain in female for a while. A male needs to continue fondling the female during this time.

Post conception period

Once the pregnancy is confirmed, one should adopt a healthy lifestyle. This is one of the most important aspects in successful baby conception. The healthy lifestyle includes sensible diet, nutritional supplements, enough sleep, less physical strain, no mental stress etc. Your embryo needs extra Vitamins, minerals, energy and so calories. You need to follow a diet chart and health supplements given by your doctor/physician.

As the trimester passes, change in diet and lifestyle is to be done and hence, one has to follow her gynecologist. Perfect diet, lifestyle, mental and physical stability; this will not only give you good health, but will also build your baby’s health and immunity with the least chance to give birth to low birth weight child.
